LANDLESS PLAY COMPETITION!
"SO BAD, IT'S GOOD!"
PLAY TITLE: New Year's End
PLAYWRIGHT: Jay D. Hannagan
SIMON SHAKESPEARE SAYS: "1980 was a bad
year."

RANDY SHAKESPEARE SAYS: "Nothin' better
than five lesbians in a hotel room with a gun,
dawg."

PAULA SHAKESPEARE SAYS: "I think I was
there that night... (alcoholic drug-induced
babble, etc.)"

"It's New Year's Eve, 1979. There are five
lesbians in a motel room. One of them has a gun.
Over the course of time leading to midnight, we
find a strange set of circumstances, becoming
even stranger, by survival instincts clashing with
bonding instincts. By truths mixing with
deceptions. By finding out why everyone was
really there that night, and who is going home in
1980. "

LAUREN
(Yanks off the spread and grabs KITT by the
head and neck towards the body of FAYE.)
I said look at her! You’re quite the shot, you know that!?

                                     KITT
No! Jesus, cover her up!

                                     LAUREN
Look at her! How does it feel huh? Does it feel good? As good as the last time you killed
someone? Are you getting that same rush of adrenaline?!

                                     KITT
             (Pulling away.)
I don’t have to listen to this!

                                     CHRISTIE
She didn’t mean to do it.

                                     LAUREN
And who the hell are you to say that?! I mean, this is what you wanted all along, isn’t it?
Isn’t it!?
